In this presentation, I discuss the elements of formative and summative assessments in education. I outlined the major features of each type of assessment, when they could be used, and the data that comes out of each. This presentation was delivered at the EduTechAsia 2016 conference.

I am an international educator who works as an educational leader, teacher, instructional technologist, educational consultant, author, presenter and researcher. I use social media to curate and add to the body of educational technology material that helps teachers use digital tools to enhance teaching and learning. Currently, I serve as the Chair-elect of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE).
